My order for MakerJuice Red G+ (SubG+ according to the label) came in for me to perform some testing. I worked outside at night, since I don't have adequate ventilation indoors and wanted to ensure the sun's UV rays didn't affect my testing. I used the color test on the Dell 4210X projector so I didn't have to connect my computer. This projector creates a 10.24 x 7.68 cm image at about 15 cm away, which is perfect for a 3D printer with 100 micron resolution.
After donning gloves, a q-tip soaked in resin smoked at about 10 cm away from the projector in 8 seconds, without any modification to the projector. The q-tip had a hardened coating of resin afterward, just as desired. I tried a few other q-tips to get a feel for how long the projector takes to cure resin. I suspect 4-10 seconds a layer, but it may be longer since the projector will be lighting a vat instead of a q-tip of resin.
I may yet modify the projector, but its clear the projector will work as is. I'll work on print speeds after I get my first prints.
