My lift plate now sports 3/16" holes and glorious scratches
To solve my print problems from the first calibration, I decided to tackle it with several changes:
- Make larger holes in the lift plate to allow the resin to come through without the "wave"
- Scratch up the surface of the lift. As one forum member put it: "Pretend your worst enemy had a favorite CD and you wanted to ruin it; go for that surface finish over the whole plate." I roughed the lift up with 60 grit sandpaper.
- Add more resin to the print process. I now have all 500 mL of MakerJuice Red in the vat.
- Reduce the dipping distance from 6 mm to 4mm, preventing the lift from "grabbing" water unnecessarily.
- Change the print script to do the first dip of the lift, then wait while I pop the first set of bubbles and remove the water spots
